You Have The Opportunity To Do Whatever You Want: Will You?

Have you ever stopped and realized that when you wake up in the morning you have the opportunity to do whatever you want to do?

Now, we all have jobs, families, friends, sometimes second jobs, bills, and much, much more — I know this.

However, what I want you to realize is this: Just because what there are several things you have to do today, you do not HAVE to do them.

Each morning when we make up we make a choice. We either think about the tasks of the day, schedule them in our phones, write them down in planners, or, we just do them.

Regardless, we wake up each day with a set agenda planned, completely forgoing creativity, free expression, down time, or really any thought at all.

Living in such a fast-paced world, full of “things to do” we are never able to STOP and consider what we WANT to do.

Try This Today:

In the midst of you day, take 15 minutes, just 15 minutes (you do have the time, especially if you cut out 15 minutes of social media use).

  1. Use the first five minutes to meditate in silence. Allow all of your stressful and damaging thoughts to free your mind.
  2. After the first five minutes, take the remaining 10 and write whatever is on your mind. Your thoughts, dreams, hopes, interests, favorite songs, etc. Write only the positive thoughts — free yourself of the negative thoughts (Those should be addressed separately in another exercise).

Try this exercise and learn some of the things that you actually WANT to do with your day/life, rather than what you have to do.

EVERY single day of our lives matter. Stop telling yourself “one more day” or “it is almost over” or “this will only take a day.” Because, the truth is, it is only a matter of time until you have to do another task that you do not enjoy doing.

Life was not created for us to live this way!

We were created to enjoy life and every single beautiful day that we are given!

Start living your life today! Stop allowing your “have to’s” and “need to’s” overpower the things you “WANT to” actually do 🙂

You call te shots

Be spontaneous, be adventurous, BE YOU!

You only get one life to live, start living it!

Share with me: What will you do today that you actually WANT to do?

❤ Wishing you love, joy and blessings,

Angela Joy

Learning to Love Yourself Through Self Care

By: Angela Ciroalo

Have you ever heard of the term, “Self Love” or “Self Care”?

Self car and love

So many of us are busy doing one thousand things at once (email, text, work, friends, family, etc.) that we never stop and take a moment to check in with ourselves.

Self love-make time

Ask yourself: What do I need today? In what areas of my life am I lacking or feeling deprived? Are there things that I aspire to accomplish but never take the time to do? Am I putting everyone else’s needs ahead of my own?

In order for us to live a healthy and happy life where we are able to better assist others, we must fully fulfill our own needs — first.

Your health, sleep, water consumption, relationships, relaxation time, career needs and physical activity, must all be met before you are able to help others. Otherwise, you are only half there.

(For example; when you are on autopilot and completely forget what you are doing or just did, or when you are in a conversation and have no idea what the other person is saying — this is not a healthy way to live your life.)

Think about the last time you were with friends, making dinner, or driving the kids to school — you likely had several things on your mind filling your thoughts with stress and aggravation. Meanwhile, you should be focused on the task at hand and enjoying the time you are actually living in (ie. living in the moment, not the future or past).

We are all busy. But there is no reason that you have to be miserable (or not mentally there) while living your life.

Seek to fulfill yourself with self-love and self-care before starting your  day.

Self-care involves small changes that you can easily incorporate first thing in the morning, or right before bed.

As you begin to implement these slight changes you will start to notice small changes in the way that you think about yourself, your life and your daily tasks.

It all starts with you.

As a single woman, I know that before I am able to fully love someone else (and allow someone to fully love me), I must first fully love myself, and it all begins with self-care.

I encourage you to begin your journey and implement some self-care and self-love in to your life.

Beginning your journey with self-care can start with a very small addition, check out some of my suggestions below:

1. Try a Self-Love Challenge to get you started on the right path.
I found a great Self-Love Challenge created by Skinny Mom that is definitely worth a try.

Self Love Challenge

The challenge lists one thing that you can do FOR YOURSELF each day.

I chose to do the second challenge on the website (the private one, that involves writing on your own. I think self love should be a private relationship that start with you and as your self love begins to grow, then you can share it with others — that is just my opinion).

2. Showing yourself some love by taking yourself on a date

Don’t wait around for people to go with you places you want to go or visit places you want to see. Time along is very valuable. Value yourself and your dreams/hopes/wishes enough to take yourself wherever it is you want to go, or to do whatever it is that you want/need to do 🙂

Self love date

3. Self-Love Affirmations

Self Love Affirmation

Either first thing in the morning, or right before bed, write down and say out loud, a self-love affirmation.

This can be something like the one listed above, or it can be;

  • Congratulating yourself for the things that you accomplished that day
  • Reminding yourself (while looking at yourself in the mirror) how beautiful you are
  • Commending yourself on a great choice you made that day
  • Thanking yourself for the healthy choices you made
  • Thanking yourself for the delicious dinner you made

For more information about self-love affirmations, feel free to contact me directly and we can discuss some affirmations that work best for you, in addition to assisting you with ways to show yourself the ultimate self-love.

4. Creating a list of the things that you need to do for yourself — every day.

self love is

5. Enjoy life. Try some suggestions that have been scientifically proven to make people healthier and happier.

  • Spend time outdoors
  • Sleep more
  • Listen to music you enjoy
  • Have meaningful relationships
  • Share joy with others
  • Do not ever be hard on yourself
  • Have meaningful conversations
  • Save your money.

These are all forms of self-care.

Some additional tips that I like and wanted to share include:

Self Care

Self Love Tips

Regardless of what you do to begin your journey with self-care, ultimately leading to self-love, it all starts with loving yourself enough to want to make the change.

We can not change other people. It is something that we must want within ourselves.

Self Love body is a temple

Your body is a temple. Honor it in all that you do, say, eat, and drink.

Say “No” To Weighing Yourself & “Yes” to Loving Yourself

By: Angela Ciroalo

Weighing ourselves is a common thing that we all likely do.

We tend to weigh ourselves as we exit the bathroom, enter our bedrooms, or even just before we leave the house.

Instead of placing the number in your mind, I am going to give you an alternative for ONE week.

I am challenging you to go one full week without weighing yourself.

Take The Challenge

Use this week to instead focus on the successes that you experienced (going to the gym, eating a banana instead of cookies, sleeping an extra hour, drinking several cups of water).

Remove all negativity: Remove your thoughts about how many pounds you want to lose, the areas of your body you are unhappy with and, overall, any thing that brings you stress or unhappiness.

Too often we place our focus on what we did not do, what we have done wrong or what we still need to do — instead of all of the wonderful things WE DID DO!

No hate zone

These are all negative thoughts that poison the mind and prevent improvement.

These thoughts weigh you down, bring you stress and aggravation, prevent you from being happy — and decrease you opportunity for success.

Therefore, use the next week to detox your negative thoughts (including the number on the scale) and instead begin taken steps to learn to love yourself.

Love yourself for all of the wonderful things you have accomplished, done correctly, succeeded in, and so forth 🙂 I am sure there are a TON, but you have overshadowed them on all that you did not do right. Stop that!! ❤

Love yourself

Those few minutes that you would have spent weighing yourself, you can instead look in the mirror and remind yourself of you beautiful or handsome you are.

This sounds silly, but it is really nice to hear from yourself. The more you tell yourself how much you truly do love yourself, the more you will believe it and then express it in your actions and behaviors.

Loveing yourself

Loving yourself expresses confidence, which allows you to be positive, thus happier and overall successful in all that you do.

Try this one week challenge and take note of the changes that you feel each day.

You will be very surprised of how much this small change will impact your life!!

Choose Happiness

Take the challenge today: Say “No” to weighing yourself and “Yes” to loving yourself 🙂

Good luck with this exercise. Let me know how it works out.

A little organization & positive reinforcement can make a world of difference

By: Angela Joy

What does your work space look like?
Does it promote productivity? Do you feel motivated?

Each office has its own look and feel, depending on the type of profession, office space/location and person’s interest.

What every office may need, regardless of its look and feel, is some needed organization along with a taste of positive reinforcement.

Angela Joy’s Wall of Motivation – alongside a clear and organized workspace

Organization&Positive Reinforcement

The photo above is an example of my current desk/office space.

All of the notes, paperwork, and books have been removed – only allowing items that I am using at the moment to remain.

Items, books, and paper work that were previously placed on the desk have been removed and organized in folders.

Now that my workspace is clear and organized, I feel refreshed and prepared to work.

More often than not people do not take the time to clear their workspace – leaving scattered paper work, pens, notes and to-do lists.

The result of dismissing time to organize your desk may lead to unproductivity, confusion, stress and aggravation – without you even realizing it. states that the benefits of an organized desk/office include:

  • Increased efficiency
  • Reduced stress levels
  • An enhanced image at work
  • The ability to retrieve forgotten/lost items
  • The opportunity to gain a sense of accomplishment

Information obtained from:, also agrees. The health and exercise magazine printed a recent article proving the same facts:

If you are facing issues with lack of organization in the workplace, refer to, where they have provided tips for you to get organized and achieve ultimate productivity:

Positive Reinforcement:

While organizing my new workspace I thought about different ways to decorate the area.

Have you ever heard that if you surround yourself with good people you will become a good person?

Well in deciding how to decorate the space I thought why not surround myself with encouraging and inspirational quotes?

As a result I began researching some quotes that are important to me and began collecting them. Over time I acquired enough of them that I started printing them to place on my wall.

The photo above shows the quotes I have placed at my workspace, I also placed quotes and encouraging words all throughout my bedroomtherefore completely surrounding myself with encouragement in every direction.

While placing these notes throughout my room I then decided to write down my weekly, yearly and life goals.

I then taped my goals next to my calendar, mirror and next to my door.

The goals are a constant reminder of the plans, dreams and hopes that I am working towards each day.

This effort has been extremely beneficial for me. Each time that I feel down I subconscious read the notes in my room while getting dressed or putting on makeup – and my mood and perspective is automatically changed.

I advise everyone, no matter how successful or not successful that you are to try this exercise.

We all have goals and hopes in life and it is important to remember and work towards them each day!

A  quote to get your own “Wall of Motivation” started is this:

“Every great dream begins with a dreamer. Always remember, you have within you the strength, the patience, and the passion to reach for the stars to change the world.”
